What is Skoon and how does it work?
Skoon is an all-natural, non-clumping, lightweight, eco-friendly cat litter solution to cat waste. Rather than using clay components like traditional cat litter, Skoon cat litter is made from highly absorbent Diatom pebbles, which replicate a microscopic, sponge-like structure that absorbs urine while trapping and eliminating odor.

Skoon cat litter is made up of small rocks or pebbles, and because of its much larger size and weight, it represents no hazard for inhalation.
How do I use Skoon Cat Litter?
For Skoon’s disposable kitty litter box, Open the box, press and fold the caps in. Your disposable cat litter box is now ready to use, and each 4-pound box of Skoon should last about 2-3 weeks for one cat.
To use Skoon’s bagged litter, fill the litter box two inches deep with Skoon Cat Litter (about half a bag on a standard size box). Adjust if you have more than one cat by adding more Skoon into a larger litter box.
Remove and dispose of solids as needed using a non-clumping litter scoop, then stir the pebbles to maximize Skoon’s absorption power.
When you notice the Skoon pebbles begin to change to an off-white color, it is time to dispose and replace!
Does Skoon work with automatic cat litter boxes?
Skoon fine grain works with most automatic litter boxes.
Is Skoon flushable?
No. We don’t recommend flushing Skoon, or any used kitty litter, as this may lead to clogged toilets, plumbing issues, and further health concerns.
Does Skoon detect bacteria or alert cat owners of any health problems their cat may be experiencing?
No. While Skoon provides amazing absorption and odor-eliminating properties, it does not detect any type of disease, bacteria or health issues.
To avoid any bacteria growth, be sure to remove solid waste and change the litter regularly. If you suspect any additional health concerns with your cat, talk to your vet immediately.
What happens if Skoon is ingested?
If Skoon is accidentally swallowed, don’t worry. It should pass through just like any other solid, as Skoon is 100% non-toxic and will not swell up inside your kitty, creating severe digestion problems.
What can I do to help my cat transition to Skoon?
If your cat is having difficulty transitioning, we recommend introducing Skoon when there are no other changes or stressors in your cat’s life. You can try the following:
- Place your old cat litter bin next to the new Skoon litter box.
- Let the old box ‘age’ and do not remove the soiled litter.
- Your cat will default to the Skoon litter box since cats prefer clean and tidy.
- Every cat is different, just take your time and be patient.
If you’re not sure if your cat is using the box, keep in mind that Skoon absorbs liquids and odors so thoroughly on contact that you may not realize your cat IS using its box! There will be no tell-tale odors or even moisture.
How is Skoon different from other cat litter?
Most cat litters are made from clay, clay compounds and various chemicals.
Skoon cat litter, however, is purely diatomite. We’ve broken down large diatomite boulders to pebble size and no smaller. These diatomite boulders are concentrated and compressed deposits of diatoms, fossilized algae skeletons that once produced the oxygen we breathe today.

What is the difference between Skoon Cat Litter and Diatomaceous Earth?
It all goes back to where the two originate. The only thing Skoon has in common with diatomaceous earth is that they’re both derived from diatomite. Diatomaceous earth is pounded and ground into a fine powder, and can be sold with other chemicals or minerals mixed in (depending on the product).
Skoon is taken from diatomite and chipped away into chunks and pebbles, then heated to absorption and structural perfection. And that’s it! Because it’s not ground into powder or mixed with anything else, the substantial pebbles stay in your cat’s litter box, absorb odors and moisture effectively, and doesn’t pose any threat of being inhaled (unlike diatomaceous earth products).

Orders are processed and shipped within 2-3 business days via FedEx SmartPost. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. Orders are not shipped or delivered on Weekends or Holidays. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. If there will be a significant delay in the shipment of your order, we will contact you via email. You will receive a Shipment Confirmation email once your order has shipped containing your tracking number(s). The tracking number will be active within 24 hours. Skoon Cat Litter is only available for orders with delivery addresses within the continental United States. We do not offer shipping to U.S. Territories, APO/FPO/DPO addresses or International Shipping.

How do I change my payment or subscription offer options?
To change your payments for your subscriptions, go to My Account, select “Subscriptions”, then click on “Shipping & Billing”. You can also click on “More” to Change the Payment Method
You can also click on “Edit products” to swap the presentation or add more products to your subscription. Click on “Next Order Date” to change the processing date or your renewal. Click “More” to Edit Frequency to move from 2 to 12 weeks. You can also add 1-Time products to your next refill.
Keep in mind that you can update this information for any of your subscriptions.
Can I change the date of my subscription delivery?
While you cannot choose the day your subscription arrives, you can choose the day it’s processed and shipped. Keep in mind that you will not be able to choose the same day or a day after the date you select.
How do I access my order information?
Simply go to My Account anytime you want. Here, you can see the status of your order and make any necessary changes to your subscription.
How do I make changes in my account details?
Go to My Account (you can find the link in the upper right-hand corner of the tip menu) to access the “Shipping & Billing” section. Your account details such as your name, phone, billing and shipping addresses can be modified here.
How do I find and view my orders?
Go to My Account to access the “Order History” section. Here, you will find information related to your recent orders. You can click on the “Full Order History” link at the bottom left corner of that page to see them in a list view.
Where do I find my subscription information?
Go to My Account to access the “Subscriptions” section. You will find the subscription(s) number, status, next payment date, amount, and frequency of delivery, as well as the details for each subscription.
Is there a way to cancel my orders and subscriptions?
You can cancel ongoing orders, as long as they have not been shipped yet. To cancel your subscriptions, change payment or modify the offer and next shipping date, click “More” at the bottom right corner of the subscription.
I have an order with a Pending Payment. What does this mean, and what should I do?
If you have an order with Pending Payment, just click Pay and confirm your billing information to get that order going. You will find the order details, related subscriptions, and addresses for each order under the “Subscriptions” section.
How do I update my payment method?
Go to My Account to access the “Subscriptions” section. Select “Shipping & Billing” to edit Billing information. You can also click “More” and select “Change Payment Method”. You will receive a safe link and be redirected to a new page with details on your most recent order as well as existing payment methods.
How do I change my billing and shipping information?
Go to My Account to access the “Subscriptions” section. Select “Shipping & Billing”. If you wish to update your shipping or billing address, select the according field and enter the updated address. Click “Update” to confirm.
How do I change the delivery date of my next shipment?
Go to My Account to manage your Subscriptions, and click on “Next Order Date”. Choose the desired date from the calendar on the right of your screen. Click “Update” to confirm the selection. Please note that you may not change your “ Next Order Date” on the same day of your renewal. It needs to be done a minimum of 2 days before your “Next Order Date”.
Can I modify the number of weeks between each delivery?
Yes! Go to My Account to manage your Subscriptions. Click “More” and “Edit Frequency”, which pop up a calendar view with a dropdown of the available frequency intervals. Select the frequency and click “Apply” to confirm.
Can I modify the product quantity for my next order?
Yes! Go to My Account to manage your Subscriptions. Select “Edit Products” to change the quantity of litter you would like to receive on your next refill. You can even Add products to your subscription or add them as 1-time to your next refill. Click on “Save changes” to confirm.
How can I add a different product to my next order?
Go to My Account to manage your Subscriptions. Select “Edit Products” to see the “mini cart”, where you will be able to Add products to your next order (1-time). Click on “Save changes” to confirm.
