How To Transition Your Cat To Skoon

We know transitioning your kitty to a new litter can be tricky. So we wanted to give you a few helpful tips and tricks that will make the switch as easy and stress-free as possible.

Once your Skoon litter arrives, here are a few tips to get started:

01.
Place your old cat litter bin next to the new Skoon litter.

This is going to seem a little gross, but trust us. Cats generally prefer a clean and tidy litter box. So one of the fastest ways to transition is to let your old box ’age’ and do not remove the soiled litter, while keeping your Skoon litter box clean and fresh.

02.
Place the litter box in a safe and comfortable spot for your cat.

Cats like to feel secure when using their litter boxes, so make sure you place it an area that is away from loud noises, bright lights, or busy walkways. The more relaxed they feel while using the box, the more likely they are to get used to it!

03.
Introduce Skoon when there are no other changes or stressors in your cat’s life.

Change can be stressful for cats, and they may not want to use their new box if there are a lot of other changes going on in the home. So make sure you introduce Skoon when things in your household are as consistent as possible.

P.S. If you’re not sure if your cat is using the box, keep in mind that Skoon absorbs liquids and odors so thoroughly on contact that you may not realize your cat IS using its box! There will be no tell-tale odors or even moisture - it’s THAT absorbent.

Remember to take it slow and be patient during the process. Cats can be extra picky when it comes to litter boxes, and it may take some time to get used to the new textures or scents of Skoon.

But don’t give up, it’s totally worth it!
